Little Waldingfield History Society
Our next event is on Wednesday 16th May, at 7.30 in the Parish Room, Church Road LW, when Pip Wright will present "A Picture History of Margaret Catchpole".
Pip is one of our favourite speakers, and this tale is the story of a Suffolk adventuress & chronicler, transported for stealing a horse, with paintings by the Rev Cobbold. Margaret Catchpole was described in the Australian Dictionary of Biography as one of the few convicts with an excellent memory and a gift for recording events, so this event will be a treat.
LWHS events are open to all, young or old, members or not, and if you like history, whether recent, ancient or somewhere in between, then you will enjoy our talks. Just £4.00 (or £2.00 if a member), gives access to presentations lasting about an hour, which are followed by tea/coffee, plus biscuits, in the company of like minded individuals.
For tickets please contact one of the following, or simply turn up on the night: Sue Sheppard on 01787 247980, or Diana Langford on 01787 248298
