The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich have documented the history of Christianity in the Diocese through 100 Treasures found in their church buildings, most of which have been nominated by the churches themselves. The 120 page colour book marks the 2014 centenary of the Diocese, and will take the reader on an unforgettable tour of church buildings across the diocese, from the grand and magnificent to the remote and beautiful.
1914 was very important to the Diocese, but of course at the same time in Europe the whole continent was descending into the unimaginable horror of the First World War. The suffering of that generation and the sacrifice made by so many is recorded in almost every church in the Diocese, as there was no community that remained untouched. The Diocese hopes the book sells well, because from the proceeds of sale a significant donation will be made to the Royal British Legion.
This great little book (cover price £5.00, plus £1.65 for postage) could make the perfect Christmas gift, as well as helping some great causes, so please order your copies by:
- Picking up an order form from St Lawrence church; or
- By downloading an order form from the link below.
Please also ensure that you note St Lawrence as the church name and Little Waldingfield as the parish name, because for every copy ordered, in addition to the contribution to the RBL, there will also be a £2.00 donation to St Lawrence church funds.
Happy reading and Merry Christmas
